もりおか復興支援センターは、東日本大震災で被災し盛岡市へ避難してきた方々の生活を支える組織です。
津波は多くの人の命を奪い、町を破壊し、暮らしや人生に大きな傷を残しました。

盛岡市は津波にあった沿岸部から１００Km離れた内陸部にあります。
なれた故郷からから離れて暮らすには、住居、生活、仕事など想像以上の困難がありました。

震災から６年経った現在も１２００人余りが盛岡で暮らしています。
生活に行き詰る人も少なくありません。

もりおか復興支援センターでは、そうした世帯を中心にした訪問活動と、盛岡市でうまく暮らしていくためのコミュニティ支援活動を行っています。

Morioka Reconstruction Support Center for Devastated Areas

Morioka Support Center for Devastated Areas is an organization to support those who suffered from natural disasters, and has been supporting the evacuees who moved to Morioka from the Sanriku Coast due to the Great East Japan Disaster in 2011.

The Tsunami took many people’s lives, destroyed many towns and left many with harmful wounds.
Morioka City is located 100km inland from the coast where the Tsunami occurred.
Living in a place away from home is never easy in terms of temporary housings, different living customs and/or finding jobs.
More than six years has past since the Disaster but still over 1,200 evacuated people are residing in Morioka.

Quite a number of them are at a loss of what to do with their lives.
Morioka Reconstruction Support Center for Devastated Area gives support to the evacuees for their wellbeing in Morioka by visiting them and supporting community activities for the evacuees.
